Familial Relations by sardonicsmiley. PG-13. Gen. Dean is messed up by a ghost. But not in the way you might think. Dark and painful, but full of love nonetheless. Hurt!Dean, mentally and physically.

Seeds of Vengeance by isolde13. Hard R. Includes non-con. This story was pretty amazing. I love how sweet and gentle Sam was, how he and Dean struggled along, tripping and faltering, but always managing to trust one another and work through the pain. 8 parts long - the above link is for part 8, which contains links to the earlier parts. Dark Angel

Chimera by jaguarcaine. Ames/Alec; (not rated, but definitely NC-17 material) The pairing totally threw me - I DESPISE Ames. He's no boy scout in this story, but it works. This piece is completely amazing--it's well-written, humorous, angsty, passionate, full of desperate sex, babies, and love. 16 parts. Includes gratuitous Hurt!Alec. Bitchy!Max has a minor role.

Dark Angel Recs and a Question

Okay, first for the question. I'm on S2 ep 16 of Dark Angel. And Max is still a complete bitch to precious gorgeous Alec. She kicked the poor guy in the balls in last eppy! Anyhow, does she ever start treating him better???? Please say yes!! I mean, yeah, he's a bit of a troublemaker, but he doesn't deserve that .... or maybe it's just my complete and total adoration of Jensen that makes me so sensitive?

Anyhow, here are a few Max/Alec recs - all ratings.

Hold Me Now (I Need To Feel Relief) by kinkynicky NC-17; Max/Alec; 9,213 words) Summary: It’s not surprising really, that they go into heat at the same time. They were paired by Manticore for reproduction, perfect for one another, at least in a physical capacity. This is a nice, long, incredibly HOT Max/Alec heatfic that's also about love and lust and yes, babies. Wonderfully well-written and completely satisfying. Oh, Alec, what I would give to be your love puppet ... sigh.

In the backseat of a black jeep on a back street by zarahemla (R; Max/Alec). Summary: Don't make us go through this all again. I'm at a loss about why the author gave this an R rating, unless it's for the mentions of torture. Anyhow, this is a wonderful, well-written piece of Alec whump with a sweet ending.

Moving Right Along by Minim Calibre (unrated; Max/Alec) Although this piece is unrated, I would say it's probably PG. A sweet bit of snark and surrender.

Probabilities in View by LC (unrated; Max/Alec/OC) A short little bit of pure porny goodness.

Multi-fandom project, squee, and a cat!!

This is a wonderful effort that includes many fandoms - I'm going to offer to podfic a story and will probably bid on something myself. My conservative family members will have a cow. Haha.

Recs! Supernatural and Dark Angel - Podfic and Regular Fic

I haven't been doing many recs posts since I went wild with the whole podficcing thing, but I've read/listened to some really good fics lately that I just HAD to share.

Supernatural

The Time Dean was Sam's Girlfriend and Jess Entered the Winchester Family Business by fleshflutter , read by sadcypress (PG-13; Sam/Dean and Sam/Jess; 1 hr 8 mins) Summary: Bodyswapping and genderswitching plus crack. This is so so so dang FUNNY and sweet and just a riot. fleshflutter is one of my favorite authors - she's just so clever, and this fic really demonstrates that in spades. Even though one of the pairings is Sam/Dean I wouldn't classify this as wincest, if that squicks you. sadcypress is such a great reader, too. She has the tones and inflections down perfectly. Everything That Dies by imogenics (Sam/Dean, R). I saw this recc'd somewhere - spnstoryfinders ? as an overlooked essential fic. It's older, but so very well-written and hot - rife with things unspoken. Dreamy and full of great descriptions and longing.

Dark Angel

So I've been making my way through S2 of Dark Angel lately, slobbering over Alec and I've been jonesing for some good Max/Alec. I've only read a few so fat - those that I could find recc'd, so if you have some good ones to rec me I'd be happy to check them out. Anyhow, I just loved this one:

The Hubbard Peak by musesfool . Max/Alec; adult; 3,470 words. Summary: He pretends it's not just biology fucking them both. This is yummy porn from Alec's pov, but it's not just porn - his hopes of something more with Max are touching, as is the sweet ending.

Dark Angel Flisties? And a Silly Cat

So sgriobadh uploaded an ep of S1 Dark Angel that had scrumdilious Jensen in it, which of course totally hooked me. And I understand that he's in all of S2. I've been watching the eps now - I started with S2 because hello - I MUST lust after my boy. Anyhow, I just finished S2 #3 and I'm digging it because - hey - Jensen. Even if he does look awfully skinny which makes him appear to be way young. But I'm into Pedo Bear ... right?

Okay, so I have some questions maybe someone can help me with?

What's the deal with Logan and the wheelchair? Sometimes he's in it and other times he's not. Huh?
Is Logan as wimpy and annoying as it seems? Does Max stay with him? Please say no!!
How many eps is Jensen really in? Is he a prominent part of the show? I'm loving his character - smart alecs are FTW!!!! - and so I want more more more!!
Did S2 end in an infuriating cliffhanger?

Whining and a Supernatural fic rec

I don't have any damn air conditioning and today is going to be something like 105 degrees so I'm going to spend the afternoon in a nice cool movie theatre perving on that brown-haired hottie in Prince Caspian.

Also, I just read this yummy threesome that did NOT cool me down: Over Yonder In A Minor Key by annalazarus. Most threesomes just have the boys falling into bed with some random chick, which bugs me since I want more buildup and okay, more realism, than that. Anyhow, the summary totally hooked me into this one: Sam and Dean lay low in Montana. Sam gets a girl. Dean gets a fryolater. The walls are thin and the power goes out a lot. It's rated NC-17 and has some Wincesty action going on for those of you not into that.

I'm somewhat nervous posting this because I usually post about Supernatural or podfic or bizarre cats or elephants doing rather grody things to other elephants, and not about writing. Deep breath. Here goes ...

Before we became crazed fangirls, dysonrules and I were fantasy writers who also owned a small electronic publishing company. We ended up publishing eight original novels as ebooks. It was a lot of fun (and a lot of work!) and we learned loads about genre publishing. Well, we’ve decided to resurrect XC Publishing, but with a twist.

Basically, we’re trying an experiment. Beginning July 1, we will offer one of our novels in serialized fashion – FREE. We’ll publish one chapter per week until the novel is finished – and then, depending on the response, we may offer it in paperback (for purchase) as well. We are currently building a free online newsletter to publish the chapters in. Our goal is to have 500 subscribers by July 1st. Since we have around 50 subscribers right now, we are doing some promotion to try to reach our goal.

He had planned for the dangerous terrain and Redolian assassins, but he did not count on slavers and werewolves. He did not expect the Gauntlet to be missing, nor to find the Kerrick royal family murdered, and he definitely did not anticipate the distractions of a sultry thief and a rescued slave girl.

Luckily, his worst enemy was there to help him out.

Insanity, podfics, and ComicCon

I am apparently insane.

First off, I am unreasonably excited that I saw a baby coyote on my hike last night! OMG!! So so cute!!

Secondly, I WON THE amplificathon!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got this nifty banner and someone will record podfic for me! Woo hooo!!!!!! But here's the REALLY crazy part. I tallied up all the podfics I recorded during the 8 weeks of the challenge and the total came to 62. SIXTY-TWO. What am I, a maniac??????? Apparently so. Anyhow, if you care to see a list of them, they are here. I have now done podfics for 7 fandoms - but overwhelmingly Supernatural, of course - and my site now is now divided into Supernatural Gen, Het, Slash and Wincest podfics. God help me, but I'll never go ~~hungry~~ without podfic again!

Also, I heard the barest hint of a rumor that Supernatural will have a "presence" at ComicCon this year!!! OMFG!!! This makes me so so so so insanely happy!!!

The Circle of Life, or something like that

I witnessed a murder today. Horrible, senseless, brutal.

On a hike in the hills, my rottie mix (sweet and gentle with people but not with other critters) spied a defenseless little horny toad and snapped it up, killing it pretty much immediately. Then spitting it out because it apparently didn't taste so great. So far, Ubu has murdered:

a kangaroo rat
two bunnies
a possum
innumerable squirrels (initially, I was perplexed by all the dead squirrels in my back yard. I figured they died in the trees and fell on the ground because hey, I don't know what happens to squirrels when they die naturally. Plus I was in denial. Then one day while I was looking out into the back yard I saw the crime take place. Poor little squirrely.)

Plus, there was an attempted murder of our turtle, hapless Ralph who had to be rushed to the vet who filled the shell holes with epoxy. He's fine, but somewhat ragged looking.

Oh, and I stopped up the tub today, pissing hubby off. Hey, I didn't know I should put the carpet cleaner dirty water down the tub!!! I feel horribly guilty because it's his birthday. This made me feel better (cause, you know, it's all about ME):

So last night, hubby and I were sitting in the office doing what we always do (no, not that, you naughties!!) which is dink around on our respective computers, when we heard a horrific loud, long cat yowl accompanied by various banging noises. Of course we thought that one of the cats had stuck its paw down the garbage disposal and turned it on or something, so we rushed out to see girl kitty looking out the screen door, completely fine but majorly pissed off that some other cat had dared to step foot on our front lawn. How can such noises come from such a little creature???

And, since it has been DAYS and DAYS since I posted a bizarre cat pic, I give you ....
